Suspect in Tuesday Apartment Shooting in Tuscaloosa Captured in Neighboring County
The man who police believe was responsible for a deadly shooting at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex earlier this week was captured and jailed Friday night.
As previously reported, a 22-year-old male was found shot to death Tuesday evening at Hodo Haven Apartments on 33rd Street East. The victim was identified as Larry Maddix, Jr.
According to a release from Captain Marty Sellers with the VCU Friday night, the United States Marshals Task Force located the suspect, 29-year-old Jeremy Delvonte Hardaway of Tuscaloosa, in neighboring Bibb County.
The release stated Hardaway was taken into custody on a murder warrant without incident and transported back to the Tuscaloosa VCU.
Hardaway was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail where he is being held on a $1 million cash bond.
Sellers said the investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the VCU.
