Tuscaloosa Police Searching for Driver who Struck a Bicyclist on Skyland Boulevard
The Tuscaloosa Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a driver who seriously injured a bicyclist during a hit-and-run accident last week.
According to a Facebook post from TPD, the incident occurred on the night of April 17 in the 500 block of Skyland Boulevard.
The post said the driver of a red Mustang struck a 33-year-old man who was riding an electric bicycle. Witnesses said the driver was seen pulling into the nearby Citgo gas station before leaving the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries that were originally life-threatening but is currently listed in stable condition.
TPD said it is believed that the vehicle model year is between 2015 through 2023 but is most likely a 2017 or 2018. The post said during the accident, the vehicle's headlight and bumper was damaged.
