Gladys Seale Coleman (July 13th, 1921 – May 6th, 2023)
Gladys Seale Coleman, age 101, of Sawyerville, Alabama, passed away May 6th, 2023 at her home.
We will be celebrating our mother and grandmother and the beautiful blessing she was in our lives on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 11:00 am with a graveside service at The Greensboro Cemetery. The Rev. John Alexander will officiate and Magnolia Chapel South will direct the service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James William and Maude Looney Seale; husband, Harris M. Coleman; grandson, Lewis J. Lawson; son-in-law, Clarence Reid Lawson; daughter-in-law, Kathy C. Coleman; sister, Frances Seale Hoggle Preston; brothers, Aubrey Seale, Edgar Seale, and Grover Seale.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Coleman Lawson; son, Harris M. Coleman, Jr.; grandchildren, Mary Quitman Lawson Holmes, Amy Lawson Cooper (Rhett), Kelli Coleman Bergman (Jon), Kristi J. Coleman; great-grandchildren, Mary Coleman Chandler, Elizabeth Moore Holmes, Lewis Lawson Holmes, Caroline Reid Cooper, Margaret Lewis Cooper, Lewis Coleman Cooper, Mary Jacobs Bergman, Jon Riggs Bergman, Jr.; and her special friend and caregiver, Ollie Williams.
Pallbearers will be Ellis Dedrick, Henry Brantley, Chester Chavers, Lee Gilbert, Tony Conner and Floyd Brantley. Honorary pallbearers will be Rhett Cooper, Jon Bergman and the Deacons and Elders of The First Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The First Presbyterian Church; P. O. Box 361, Greensboro, Alabama 36744 or the charity of one’s choice.
