Professionals in west Alabama have the opportunity to dramatically boost their networks and learn more than they can imagine through the months-long Leadership Tuscaloosa program.

Speaking as a graduate of the 2017-2018 LT Class, allow this winter the anecdotal report that there is little, if anything, you can do to meet others like you and the heads of local governments, nonprofits, industries, law enforcement agencies, education institutions and much more.

Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, Leadership Tuscaloosa is a nine-month development program that requires commitment and dedication but sees full buy-in from the community.

Full-day sessions introduce each class to influential local leaders and educate them about the economic drivers of the area, its history, the triumphs and failures of the past and the challenges and promises of the future.

"The objective of LT is to help meet the community's need for informed, responsible, and effective leadership," the Chamber explains. "Participants gain increased knowledge of the area's economic, social, historical, and political issues and needs. Leadership Tuscaloosa intends to provide a foundation of knowledge that potential leaders can use to aid their involvement and success in community endeavors."
