Fosters Ferry Public Boat Ramp to Close for Months for Upgrades
A boat ramp granting access to the Black Warrior River in Fosters will close for the next couple of months to add a public bathroom, repave the parking lot and add other upgrades.
The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced the closure in a Thursday press release.
ADCNR said the Foster’s Ferry Public Boat Ramp will close this coming Monday, April 1st.

The ramp is located off U.S. Highway 43 near Interstate 20/59 and gives boaters and paddlers access to the river in Fosters and is the first public access after William Bacon Oliver Dam and its ramp in Northport.
"During the closure, the parking lot will be repaired and re-paved. The current parking lot drainage issues will be repaired, new security lights will be installed, and a new restroom will be installed," the ADCNR said in a press release. "The renovations are expected to be completed in approximately two or three months. A reopening date will be announced when available."
The project represents a collaboration between the state agency and the Tuscaloosa County Commission. The press release said funding for the project is coming from the Sport Fish Restoration Program and crews working for the county will provide the services and labor to repair the parking lot.
