Former Alabama Player Terrence Cody Joins The Gary Harris Show

Former Alabama nose guard Terrence Cody was back in Tuscaloosa this weekend as an honorary captain and today he took some time to come on The Gary Harris show to talk college football and reminisce about his time at Alabama.

Cody was a standout player for the Crimson Tide for two seasons, he won a national championship in 2009 and was apart of the foundation being built of what is known as the Alabama dynasty.

Alabama came up short in 2008 against the eventual national champions, Florida Gators and then went on to lose to Utah in the Sugar Bowl. Setting up a revenge season in 2009.

"What fueled me was the Utah loss, that was probably my worst loss as a college player and it got me fired up. I was ready to get back in the lab and work and I had a chip on my shoulder coming into next season," Cody said.

The Fort Meyers native had some memorable moments in the 2009 campaign when Alabama defeated Texas in the national championship in Pasadena.

The unanimous All-American had two huge field goal blocks against Tennessee, one at the end of regulation to win the game and keep Alabama undefeated on the year.

"I was thinking one of us has to get this either me or Marcell (Darius) or Julio would have got it and when we lined up I knew we were gonna get through there and we bust through there and fortunately I got it," Cody said.

Cody went on to play professionally for the Baltimore Ravens and won Super Bowl 47 with Baltimore, before being released in 2015.
