Mark Edward Akins made a written statement threatening to take his own life, and if was not successful he would return to the Gorgas Electric Generating Plant where he works the following Monday to carry out the action on his co-workers and others on the property.

Specifically, the note said that if he failed to take his own life, Akins would "unload a couple of clips into each and every one of you."

Management at Gorgas Electric was alerted to the threat and took swift action including a plant lockdown, followed by a search of vehicles and employees.

Walker County authorities apprehended Akins, and a District Court has set his bond to $7,500.
