Edward Eugene Piper passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife and children, on January 5, 2026, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He was born in Hutton Valley, Missouri, on February 11, 1948. He married Beverly Ruth Bolander on November 27, 1970. From this union, two children, Timothy Edward and Amy Lynn, were born. He worked at Fire Master Equipment Inc before retiring. There, he had a second family of coworkers. He loves doing stained glass, going to gospel music performances, golfing, visiting botanical gardens, museums, traveling, and being with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Edward 'Ed' and Mildred Evelyn Piper, nee Smith, his brother Randy Lee Piper, and his brother-in-law, Henry Robert Bolander.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly, his son, Timothy, his daughter, Amy Taylor (James), his sister, Pamela Rhodes (Daryl), and his brother, Rodney Piper (Lexie). He is also survived by Gil and Barbara Bolander, Paul Bolander, John and Brenda Bolander, Dorothy Brainard (David), and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held in Springfield, Missouri in May.
