Edgar Leon Ivey, Jr. (May 11th, 1936 – January 24th, 2024)

Edgar Leon Ivey, Jr., age 87, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on January 24, 2024 at Forest Manor Nursing Home.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Carolwood Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Ritter directing. Burial will follow in Carolwood Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ivey; son, Davie Higginbotham; and daughter, Emily Ivey.

Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Norred and Helene Sanford; sons, Ray Ivey and Eddie Ivey; grandchildren, Delaney Ritter, Jason Ritter, Lena Townsend, and Jameson Sanford; and numerous other grand and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ivey’s life reflected his love for the Lord and his family. He was a decades-long operator of heavy equipment in the building of highways, roads, and bridges.

Pallbearers will be Davie Glenn Higginbotham, Jimmy Norred, Dennis Sanford, William Godwin, Terry Sanford, and Derrell Pike.
