Dump Truck Hits Power Pole on MLK Jr. Boulevard, Causing Major Delays

A dump truck collided with a power pole along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Wednesday, and repairs are causing massive delays.

Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa's Traffic Reporter "Captain" Ray Allen told The Thread the incident occurred Wednesday morning near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Old Moody Swamp Road in Tuscaloosa.

The dump truck collided with a power pole, damaging it and breaking several power lines.

Allen said lines were hanging very low across MLK Jr. Boulevard, and some lines were strewn across the road which caused a major traffic hazard.

He also confirmed no one was injured in the accident.

Workers are currently removing the power lines from the road and resetting the pole, which will still cause significant delays. Allen encouraged commuters to seek an alternate route.
