David Paul Rice, age 66 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away at home on January 5, 2022.

David was preceded in death by his wife Sandi, grandparents George and Ethel Hester, Lewis and Alma Rice, parents JP Rice and Annette Rice Elliott and brother David Elliott.

David is survived by his daughters Beth Henry (Isreal) and Katie Johnson (Brett), sister Cindy Hightower (Jeffery), brothers Steve Rice, Jesse Elliott and Freeman Elliott, Grandchildren Kate and Emma Henry and Wyatt Johnson, Nieces Shanna Holmes and Emilie Martinet, nephew Troy Tibbetts.

David was born in Wedowee, Alabama on December 22, 1955. He spent an idyllic childhood on the family farm in Wadley, Alabama; where granddaddy Hester taught him everything he needed to know about life. His love of music began at a young age, leading him to perform with many gospel groups. Upon graduation, he attended Clarke College in Newton, Mississippi. His love of music continued throughout his life. Through this love he was able to create relationships and share his testimony with the local music community. His legacy of music is being carried on by his pride and joy, his grandchildren.

David was a selfless caregiver to his wife Sandi, a committed employee to Cook's Pest Control, a dedicated volunteer to the local Autism community, an animal lover and a firm believer in Christ.

There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday 2:00 pm January 8, 2022 at Indian Lake Baptist Church. No visitation prior.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the: Randolph County Animal Shelter in memory of David Rice.
