Clyde Watkins (July 5th, 1934 – January 18th, 2023)

Clyde Watkins, age 88 of Brent, passed away January 18, 2023 at home.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Bro. Ray Grantham, Bro. Kenny White, Bro. Brandon Breland and Bro. Kevin Breland officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow in Pondville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Veller Watkins, brothers; Cliff Watkins, Olan Watkins, Junior Watkins, and his sister, Baby Judy Watkins.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mattie Lee Watkins, children; Larry Watkins (Tonya), Rickey Watkins (Brenda), Joyce Breland (Marvin), Gail Sutton (Carl), brothers; Carl Watkins, Jimmy Watkins, sisters; Geneva Barnett, Earline Murphy, Christine Crawford, Dean Huey, 14 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Watkins, Kent Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Justin Watkins, Tyler Sutton, and Cody Breland. Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Amedisys Home Health, Dr. Alldredge, John Smith, Charles Moore, and Phifer Wire Products.
