Tuscaloosa Teacher’s Bond Revoked After Contacting Minor Following Arrest
A teacher at a private Christian school in Tuscaloosa who was arrested and fired last week over an alleged sexual relationship with a student is headed back to jail after she reportedly violated the conditions of her bond by contacting a child almost immediately upon her release.
As the Thread first reported, 35-year-old Sarah Huggins Logan was a teacher at North River Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa who was arrested by investigators last week and charged with having an illegal sexual relationship with a student under the age of 19.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, which investigates almost all sex crimes in the county, said her arrest came after the parents of a child at the school reported that Logan had behaved inappropriately with their daughter.

Logan was arrested on Friday, July 18th, and the VCU announced the charge against her later that day, warning that there may be other victims and encouraging them to contact police if they feel Logan may have broken the law in interactions with them.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa VCU, said that North River Christian Academy cooperated with their investigation and confirmed that Logan is no longer an employee there.
Logan left the jail sometime this weekend on a $5,000 bond, but in court documents filed Tuesday, prosecutors said there were conditions attached to her release, including that she would not contact any minor children outside her immediate family.
Logan reportedly "set up a new social media account and sent a friend request to an unrelated minor," around Sunday the 20th, despite knowing her age and having had the terms of her bond explicitly explained.
District Judge James Gentry filed an order on Tuesday morning, revoking Logan's bond and calling for a new writ of arrest.
Captain Kennedy said last week that anyone with information about additional potentially illegal actions can contact investigators to share those stories and possibly see more charges filed.
"The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are expected," Kennedy said. "There is a possibility of other victims, and anyone who was a victim or has further information is encouraged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690."
