The new Chick-fil-A quick-service restaurant in Northport is finally finished and will open to the public later this week, a brand spokesman said in a Monday press release.

On Monday, Chick-fil-A announced that it will open the new Northport restaurant this Thursday, April 24th, at 6 a.m.

As the Thread first reported back in November, Ashley Gill, the longtime owner of the original Northport Chick-fil-A, will also operate this new location at 6375 McFarland Boulevard about three miles west of her first store.

Gill has been with Chick-fil-A for the last two decades and run the Northport store since 2009. For Gill, it's a family affair - according to the press release, both her father and grandfather owned locations and her brother currently runs the one in Jacksonville, Alabama.

“Chick-fil-A has been a meaningful part of my life and my family’s story,” Gill said in a press release. “I’m thankful for this opportunity because it allows us to enhance the dining experience for Guests and create new opportunities for Team Members. I can’t wait to cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones.”

Chick-fil-A said the new opening will create about 90 jobs and also serve as an opportunity A to give back to the community by committing to donate surplus food to the Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl, giving $25,000 to the West Alabama Food Bank and presenting 100 workers at two local nonprofits with free food for a year.
