Residents over the weekend were asking why the Chick-Fil-A on Skyland Boulevard was shut down, with reps from the restaurant telling the Tuscaloosa Thread they are undergoing renovations.

The new Chick-fil-A quick-service restaurant in Northport is finally finished and will open to the public later this week, a brand spokesman said in a Monday press release.

The same owners of the long-successful Northport Chick-fil-A broke ground on a second location on that side of the Black Warrior River Thursday.
