Charlotte Janette Hocutt (March 13th, 1940 – April 6th, 2026)
Charlotte Janette Hocutt, 86, of Northport, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 6, 2026.
Born on March 13, 1940, Charlotte was a woman of deep and abiding faith who walked closely with the Lord throughout her life. She was a shining example of Christ’s love, showing kindness, grace, and compassion to everyone she encountered. Her life was a testament to her belief that faith and family were life’s greatest blessings.
Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel North on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Carolwood Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
Charlotte was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who poured her heart into those she loved. She found joy in caring for her family, lifting others up in prayer, and sharing her unwavering trust in God. Her gentle spirit and servant’s heart left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Greg Hocutt (Alisha) and Randy Hocutt; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Averette, Hunter Hocutt (Mary Shannon), Terra Mills (Zach), Tyler Hocutt (Ashley), Garrett Hocutt, and Reed Hocutt; and her precious great-grandchildren, Hunter Hocutt, Thomas Hocutt, Major Mills, and Cohen Mills. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on through each of them.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Alta Mae Pearson; her beloved daughter, Pam Averette; and her granddaughter, Kelly Averette.
While her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Heavenly Father, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Averette, Hunter Hocutt, Tyler Hocutt, Garrett Hocutt, Reed Hocutt, and Zach Mills. Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama and the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
Charlotte will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched and the faith she so beautifully lived each day.
