Charles Kenneth Fretwell, age 81, longtime resident of Northport, Alabama passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Magnolia Chapel North. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Fretwell was a longtime, loyal, and beloved member of the Five Points Baptist Church, the Agape Sunday School Class and devoted volunteer with their Kitchen Staff. A master jokester and natural storyteller, Kenny loved an audience and was happiest telling stories at the dinner table.

Patriarch of a large loving family, adored husband to Loretta for 60 years, Kenny was a man of faith, loved the Lord, and loved spreading the gospel whenever he could.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Fretwell and Ruby Nell Everette (Chester); Grandparents, Jessie Tucker Fretwell (Orren), Charles Henry Goins, LouZena Harless Findley (Fred); Brothers, Bobby Fretwell, Richard Fretwell, Al Latham and Daughter-in-law Vicky Tims Fretwell.

Survivors include his loving wife, Loretta Channell Fretwell of Northport, AL. Sons Tony Fretwell of Tuscaloosa, AL; Scott Fretwell (Becky) of Chesterfield, VA; Paul Fretwell of Huntsville, AL and Tony Pearce of Northport, AL. Grandchildren Lace Breeding (Tyler) of Roanoke, VA; Cameron Fretwell of Sarasota, FL; Amanda Fretwell and Jessica Fretwell of McCalla, AL; Emily Fretwell of Tuscaloosa, AL; Melissa Giageos and Keith Johnson of Chesterfield, VA, and brother Harvey Fretwell (Freda) of Northport, AL.

Pallbearers are Roger Sanford, Chris Crowder, Clay Hahn, Jeremy Latham, John Hinton and Bryan Hahn. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike and Sharon Skipper, Billy and Dot Watkins, Members of the Five Points Baptist Church, Kitchen Staff and Agape Sunday School Class, the Lewis Faye Manderson Cancer Center, and Hospice of West Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a contribution to Five Points Baptist Church, Northport, Alabama or to your favorite charity.
