Brielle Woods Inspires Excellence at Tuscaloosa’s Eastwood Elementary School
Tuscaloosa City Schools, along with Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa and Child Abuse Prevention Services, will highlight and recognize Inspiring Excellence Student Of The Month from each of the 21 schools in the district during the 2023-2024 school year. Every month, two to three outstanding TCS students will be highlighted in this series.
Students and staff celebrated a focused and driven seventh grader at Eastwood Middle School Monday morning with a ceremony where she was recognized as their 2023-2024 Inspiring Excellence Student of the Month.
Brielle Woods was described as a student who is always respectful towards her teachers and peers. Her teachers say they are excited to see all the great things she will accomplish in the future.
Eastwood Principal Evelyn Peoples also had high compliments for the seventh-grader.
“She strives for excellence in all she does,” Peoples said. “She takes her studies very seriously.
Woods said that she was surprised to receive the award, but that it felt so good to be recognized.
“It is important to me to have good leadership characteristics because I feel I can inspire other students to be good.” Woods said.
In addition to possessing strong leadership skills, Woods places a heavy emphasis on her academics and said civics was her favorite class in school.
After high school, Woods said she hopes to get involved in the real estate business.
“Being a leader means showing students an example of what they should do,” Woods said.
