Man Killed in Wednesday Shooting in Tuscaloosa, Search Underway

Police in Tuscaloosa are investigating after a Wednesday shooting killed a man there at a local apartment complex.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokeswoman for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to Forrester Gardens apartments on James I Harrison Parkway around 11 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

A man was found suffering from injuries which Taylor called serious. TPD sent a large number of officers in the area of James I Harrison Parkway searching for a suspect.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit will take over the investigation and will release any further details.

UPDATE: Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa VCU, said the victim in this shooting has died.
