Man Killed, Woman Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in Bibb County
A Central Alabama man is dead and a woman is injured after a single-vehicle wreck in Bibb County Saturday afternoon.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said 39-year-old Timothy Knox, Jr. was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram on Alabama Highway 139 near Six Mile Creek when the truck left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned,
Bailey said the wreck occurred about 10 miles east of Brierfield in Bibb County, southeast of Tuscaloosa.
Bailey said Knox was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 40-year-old woman traveling with him survived the accident and was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment. Knox and the passenger were both from Prattville, Alabama, which is west of Montgomery.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
