Police Investigating Deadly ATV Wreck in Tuscaloosa County Monday Morning
Police in Tuscaloosa County have launched an investigation after an early morning ATV accident left one person dead in the Fosters community Monday morning.
"Cap" Ray Allen, Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa's traffic reporter, first reported the wreck shortly after 7 a.m. Monday.
Allen reported the wreck took place on Lock 9 Road in Fosters early Monday morning.
Since then, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the deadly wreck and referred questions about it to the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, who investigates almost all unnatural deaths in the county.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the VCU, spoke to the Thread Monday morning and confirmed that an ATV accident claimed the life of one person early Monday morning.
Kennedy said police believe the deadly wreck was an accident and said the VCU would likely not release details about it because it does not appear that any crime was committed. He declined to identify the victim or say how old they were Monday morning.
This is a developing story and may be updated. Stay connected to the Tuscaloosa Thread for more details as they come in.
