Ann McCraw Weeks, 83, of Moundville, Alabama, passed away June 3, 2024 at DCH Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 186 County Road 34, Akron, Alabama with Rev. Rick Crawford and Thomas Weeks officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 - 9:45 in the fellowship hall.

She was born July 22, 1940 in York, Alabama to Charles Robert McCraw and Mildred Brietling McCraw.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Chester McCraw.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years George Weeks; sons, Scott Weeks (Ann) and Powers Weeks (Tracie); grandchildren, Andrea Tynes (Clay), Thomas Weeks (Lindsey), Logan Weeks (Kaleigh), and Britain Weeks; 6 great grandchildren and special family friend, Pam Smith.

Ann graduated from Greene County High School before attending Alverson Draughon Business School. She worked as a receptionist at UAB Hospital. She later attended Shelton State Cosmetology School and opened her hair salon, Ann’s Beauty Shop.

Having accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mt. Hebron in the late 1960s, she became a faithful member. She led the choir, often singing solos and playing the piano. She also taught the preschool Sunday school class and worked in Vacation Bible School. Her passions in life were her faith, family, cooking, music and animals. She will always be remembered for her smile and her willingness to give.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Mt. Hebron Cemetery Fund, 11 Weeks Road, Moundville, AL 35474.
