The Aliceville Fire Department has launched a drive to assist victims of a major fire at Treeline Apartments located on Treeline Drive in Aliceville early Tuesday morning. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the fire raging through the structure at approximately 2:30am. No injuries were reported but several apartments were total loss.

The fire was so intense that Fire Chie Derrick Jones requested an additional mutual aid response form volunteer fire departments in Carrollton, Dancy-Cochran, Pickensville, Sapps and Summerville.

The blaze destroyed all the belongings of residents in four units leaving them homeless. Aliceville VFD has posted a plea on their Facebook site asking the community to keep the impacted families in their thoughts and prayers and to donate what they can to the families who lost everything.

The fire department posted a list of the clothing needs for the families who were affected:

  • 60-Year-Old Male: Bottoms 40W/34L, Tops 2XL, Shoes 10.5 Wide
  • 57-Year-Old Female: Dresses/Skirts Size 16, Shoes Size 9
  • 86-Year-Old Female: Tops Large, Bottoms Large, Shoes Size 10
  • 5-Year-Old Male: Bottoms Size 7, Tops 6/7, Shoes Size 13
  • 3-Year-Old Female: Tops 3T/4T, Bottoms 3T/4T, Shoes Size 7
  • 2-Year-Old Female: Tops 2T/3T, Bottoms 2T/3T, Shoes Size 6

The Facebook post also lists locations where those willing to contribute can drop-off their donation: There are two:

  • Drop-off Location (Daytime): Aliceville City Hall, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Drop-off Location (After Hours): Aliceville Police Department

In the online press release Chief Jones thanked all the agencies who assisted in the response for their teamwork in extinguishing the blaze, that includes all volunteer fire departments, Pickens County 9-1-1, Aliceville Police Department, Pickens County Ambulance Service, Pickens County natural Gas and Alabama Power.

Cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
