Police Officer Arrested In Ongoing Probe into Child Sex Abuse Material in Aliceville
The last few weeks have not been good ones for the Pickens County City of Aliceville. First came the arrests of four teachers in Aliceville schools on various child porn and child sex abuse charges. Now Aliceville Mayor Terrence Windham has posted on social media that an unnamed Aliceville Police officer has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.

The mayor did not reveal the cause for the suspension in his post but did say the matter is serious.
"The recent arrest of one of our police officers is a serious matter. No one is above the law, and we are fully cooperating with the proper authorities as the legal process moves forward" -- Mayor Terrence Windham, Aliceville
It is not known if the officer was arrested by local, state or federal authorities.
The mayor emphasized that the situation does not reflect the values of the Aliceville Police Department as a whole, noting that its officers work daily to serve the community.
Windham added that the city remains committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining the public trust.
The officer's arrest comes in the wake of the arrests of 41-year-old Aliceville High School math teacher Roderick Granger, 49-year-ol Aliceville Elementary 4th grade teacher Lakethia Wilkins, 58-year-old Aliceville High teacher Winston Bishop, and 28-year-old Antavious Belgrave, an Aliceville High social studies teacher.
All were taken into custody with various sexual misconduct charges as well as other crimes. It is unknown if the officer's arrest has any connection to the teacher arrests.
