Road crews with the Alabama Department of Transportation will perform roadway maintenance on Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa County at nights starting this weekend.

John McWilliams, a spokesperson for ALDOT, said the work will be done on I-20/59 near Exit 100 to Lake View in eastern Tuscaloosa County and will kick off this Sunday night.

The state official said the work is expected to last 10 days and wrap up in mid-May, weather permitting.

He said the crews will only work at night and only be allowed to close lanes between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. to reduce impact on interstate traffic in the area.

The Exit 100 entrance and exit ramps will remain open at all times, McWilliams said.

Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits, McWilliams said.
