The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball program stays hot on the recruiting trail after Rylan Griffen announced his commitment to Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide. Griffen is a 4-star shooting guard out of Richardson, TX., he is considered the No. 5 shooting guard in the class and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas according to the 247Sports Composite. 

The 6-foot-5, 180 pound guard chose the Crimson Tide over several other prominent basketball schools. Griffen had offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and NC State.

Alabama now has five commitments in the 2022 recruiting class. According to 247Sports Nate Oats and his staff have now amassed the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation and the No. 2 class in the SEC behind the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Interestingly enough, Griffen will be joining the SEC with his high school teammate Carson Wallace. Wallace, a 5-star prospect, is committed to Kentucky. The pair play together at Richardson High School.

Alabama's 2022 recruiting class now includes Jaden Bradley, Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney, Rylan Griffen and Nick Pringle.

Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson served as the primary recruiter for Griffen and has been a key member of the Crimson Tide coaching staff. He is responsible for brining in Bradley and Miller from this current class and Joshua Primo and Alex Tchikou in the previous class.
