ADPH Classifies Bibb County as ‘Very High Risk’ for COVID-19 Infection
The Alabama Department of Health has identified a West Alabama County as being at 'very high risk' for transmission of the novel Coronavirus.
The ADPH classifies Bibb County as very high risk due to increases in both hospital visits and confirmed COVID-19 cases. The health agency ranks counties by risk level based on the number of new cases each day, an indicator of the virus' spread within the community.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bibb County has continued to climb; the Alabama Department of Public Health has added 79 new cases in the past 14 days, bringing the cumulative total to 494 confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus.
The ADPH only notes three other counties as being under a very high risk for virus transmission: Bullock, Pike, and Wilcox.
