Police officers in Tuscaloosa arrested two juveniles and an adult Saturday afternoon when a pursuit of their vehicle led to a multi-vehicle crash downtown.

Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to University Manor Apartments of Greensoro Avenue just after 4:45 p.m. Saturday after callers reported gunshots fired from a maroon Dodge Charger in the area.

Taylor said officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop its driver, who fled police and led them on a pursuit on Greensboro, 10th Avenue, Queens City Avenue, Seventh Street and back to Greensboro, all heavily trafficked parts of the downtown area.

Taylor said officers parked two unmarked TPD trucks on Eight Street outside the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office in an attempted to end the chase and the fleeing Charger crashed into both.

Its three inhabitants fled on foot and were eventually all taken into custody near Lurleen Wallace Boulevard, Taylor said.

She said officers recovered weapons and other items from the three suspects, and further investigation of the original scene found bullet holes shot into the walls and windows of a house on 29th Place.

Taylor said police have two juveniles and an adult in custody, but none had been charged officially as of 9 p.m. Saturday.
