16-Year-Old Dies After Monday Shooting in Northport, Alabama
A 16-year-old is dead after a shooting at Valley Hills Apartments complex in Northport Monday afternoon.
Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told media that the victim was found shot in the chest Monday afternoon.
The injured teenager was rushed to an area hospital for treatment but eventually succumbed to their injuries. Sellers said the victim was a 16-year-old male.
No other details were immediately available Monday evening. The VCU has not identified the victim or said if they have developed a suspect or theories about the motive of the shooting.
This will mark the third homicide the VCU has investigated so far in 2022.
