1 Hurt, 1 in Custody, 1 Wanted After Shooting on Tuscaloosa’s Skyland Boulevard
One person was injured Monday afternoon in a shooting on Tuscaloosa's Skyland Boulevard, area police have announced.
Stephanie Taylor, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said reports of gunshots started coming in to dispatchers around 4 p.m. Monday.
Taylor said officers responded to the 2000 block of Skyland Boulevard East, not far from the Marathon gas station, where one person had been shot and sustained injuries that first responders do not believe are life-threatening.
Taylor said the victim is a 34-year-old man who was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. Witnesses on the scene said the victim was struck in the leg.
She said one suspect is in custody and police are actively searching for another Monday evening.
