Woman Shot at Tuscaloosa Apartment Monday Night, Police Suspect Ex-Boyfriend
Police are continuing to investigate after a woman was allegedly shot by her ex-boyfriend at an apartment in Tuscaloosa on Monday night.
Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said police were called around 8:20 p.m. to the City Heights at Skyland, an apartment complex in the 4500 block of East 18th Avenue.
TPD officers reportedly found an 18-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound which is not believed to be life-threatening.
Sellers said the VCU has taken over the investigation and police believe the victim was shot by her 20-year-old ex-boyfriend.
At this time, the man has not been charged in connection to the shooting, but Sellers said he was arrested on other charges.
