The driver of the second vehicle, a pickup truck, was not at the crash site when first responders reached the scene. As of Friday morning, TPD and Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies are still attempting to locate the truck's owner.

The victim's name will be released to the public once she has been positively identified and her family has been notified.

A portion of U.S. Highway 11/University Boulevard East near Widwood Trace reopened at 8:30 a.m. Friday after TPD's Accident Reconstruction Unit conducted an on-scene investigation and cleared debris. U.S. highway 11 is now open in both directions.
