Woman Hurt, Juvenile Arrested After Predawn Shooting in Tuscaloosa Sunday

A woman was shot and injured in west Tuscaloosa before dawn Sunday morning, and police have arrested a juvenile who was allegedly responsible.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said their investigators were called to reports of a shooting in the area of Alston Avenue in the West End.

Sellers said a female victim had been shot and hurt, but Sellers said her injuries were not life-threatening.

He said after a VCU investigation, police arrested a juvenile male in connection to the shooting.

Sellers said further information would be released to the public on Monday.
