Woman Charged With Murder After Killing in West Tuscaloosa
Police in Tuscaloosa have charged a 30-year-old woman with murder after a killing in the city's West End earlier this week.
Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said investigators believe the suspect, Kathy Marie Dean, is responsible for killing 60-year-old Willie Armstrong Tuesday afternoon.
The crime scene Tuesday extended from Winston's service station and convenience store on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard past Beulah Baptist Church to Roseann Apartments, where police found Armstrong's body.
Kennedy did not release the circumstances of his death.
Dean, who was identified as a person of interest in the case Tuesday, was found and arrested Thursday and charged with one count of murder.
She was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where her bond was set at $150,000.
