King said McRee, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, was struck by a 2013 Toyota Tacoma that was being driven by a 24-year-old McCalla man.

McRee was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other driver was transported to Bibb Medical Center in Centreville, Alabama for treatment of the injuries he sustained.

King said the accident happened around mile marker 101 five miles south of Woodstock.

Troopers have released the identity of the McCalla man driving the Tacoma, but it is the policy of the Tuscaloosa Thread to refrain from publishing identifying information about survivors of a deadly collision unless criminal charges are filed.

King said no further details were available Tuesday as ALEA continues to investigate the traffic fatality.
