Alabama has been impacted by a multi-wave storm system, which will bring the threat of severe weather to our area and other portions of the South today.

Severe (Brief Tornadoes and Damaging Winds)
Flooding (Heavy rains training over the same area)
West Alabama Risk Areas
Bibb – county split between Marginal & Slight Risk
Fayette – not under any risk area
Greene – county split between Marginal & Slight Risk
Hale – county split between Marginal & Slight Risk
Lamar – not under any risk area
Perry – Slight Risk
Pickens – a very small southeast section of the county, is under a Marginal Risk
Sumter - Marginal Risk
Tuscaloosa – a good portion of the county is under a Marginal Risk
Walker, a very small southeast section of the county, is under a Marginal Risk

“A low-end severe weather threat continues over the southern half of Alabama through mid-morning,” said Spann. “As the low-level jet ramps up over a somewhat unstable airmass, an isolated tornado or two is possible over the next few hours.”
