Police in Tuscaloosa are investigating after a Wednesday night shooting seriously injured a man.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers were called to the 3200 block of 44th Place East around 10 p.m. Wednesday on reports of a shooting.

Kennedy said officers found one man "seriously injured," who was rushed to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

No additional information was available Thursday morning.

Kennedy said the investigation is active and ongoing, and asked anyone with information about the shooting to immediately contact the VCU at 205-464-8690.
