Gov. Ivey is passing through more federal dollars to local community organizations in the state. 12 agencies, four serving West Alabama, will split $6.3 million in grants to help low-income Alabama households improve the energy efficiency of their homes through the Weatherization Assistance Program.

The program is designed to reduce home energy costs while improving safety and comfort, with priority given to households that include older adults, people with disabilities and families with children.
