Reginal King, an ALEA spokesperson, said the crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday when Gale Patrick Lewis, 56, of Demopolis was driving his 2014 Toyota Camry along U.S. 80.

Lewis struck a 2013 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Ernesto Castro, 62, of Los Angeles. Both Castro and his passenger – John Jones, 60, of Cleveland, Ohio – were pronounced dead at the scene.

King said the crash occurred near the 21-mile marker on U.S. 80, about 10 miles west of the Livingston city limits.

Nothing further is available at this time, as the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate.
