Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the VCU, said Monday afternoon that the investigation involved an extended family and multiple victims have been discovered.

The two men were arrested Friday and identified as 43-year-old Eric Cameron Englebert and 57-year-old Michael Ray Martin.

Englebert was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age.

Martin was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age and one count of first-degree sodomy.

Both men are being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on bonds set at $300,000 cash each.

To protect the identity of the alleged victims, Kennedy did not disclose any specific details about the investigation that led to the Friday arrests but said the VCU believes Englebert and Martin may have had other victims in the past.

Kennedy said anyone who may have been a victim of either of the two suspects should contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 205-464-8690.
