Tuscaloosa Woman Dies in Saturday Crash Outside of Coaling
A Tuscaloosa woman died on Saturday in a single-vehicle accident involving an SUV in which she was a passenger, Alabama State Troopers have reported.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in the region, said a 66-year-old Cottondale man was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon and left U.S. 11 and struck an embankment.
38-year-old Tresda M. Caddell was a passenger in the Yukon, which reportedly overturned and struck a utility pole.
Caddell allegedly was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the GMC, a Cottondale man, was not injured.
Bailey said the crash occurred in Tuscaloosa County on U.S. 11 near Cedar Cove Loop Road, approximately two miles east of Coaling.
No other information was available on Saturday afternoon, and Bailey said Troopers continue to investigate the deadly accident.
