Police are asking for help from anyone who may have seen a gun fired outside of Spades Lounge in west Tuscaloosa before dawn Sunday morning.

The club is located off Culver Road, and police say an incident in their overflow parking lot left a man with a gunshot wound they did not classify as life-threatening.

A police spokesperson said a single gunshot was fired at 1:48 a.m. Sunday, while the Saturday night crowd was still at the club. A Tuscaloosa Police officer doing a routine patrol was stopped at the bar and speaking to security guards at Spade when they heard a single shot fired.

A 32-year-old was found in the overflow lot across the street with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department has turned the investigation over to the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, who told the Thread Monday that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

VCU Commander Captain Jack Kennedy asked anyone who may have seen the shot fired to contact the investigative unit at 205-464-8690.
