Tuscaloosa Police Investigating Double Homicide Tuesday Night
Police in Tuscaloosa are on the scene of a double homicide late Tuesday night, further worsening what is becoming the area's most violent year in recent memory.
Captain Marty Sellers, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media that the Tuscaloosa Police Department and VCU are in the 3700 block of 25th Place in Tuscaloosa on a double homicide.
By the count of this publication, they will represent the 20th and 21st homicide the VCU has investigated so far in 2024.
Sellers alerted local media to the killing around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
No other details were immediately available.
UPDATE: A 25-year-old suspect has been arrested and accused of killing his mother and her boyfriend.
