UPDATE 3:40 P.M.: The Tuscaloosa Police Department has confirmed one person is dead and another is being treated for wounds that do not appear to be life-threatening after a shooting at Sun Valley Apartments on 36th Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Stephanie Taylor, the public information officer for the Tuscaloosa Police Department, said officers were called to the complex at 1:38 p.m. Sunday.

Residents there told 911 operators that one person had been shot and another may be wounded.

After around two hours of searching for more information about the shooting and trying to locate its victims, officers can confirm one person is dead and another injured.
