Tuscaloosa Police Charge Woman with Attempted Murder for Sunday Morning Stabbing
Police in Tuscaloosa have arrested a woman after she allegedly stabbed another woman several times early Sunday morning.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers responded to Running Brook Apartments on Cypress Creek Avenue East on reports of a stabbing around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
They found a woman who'd been stabbed several times, but is expected to survive her injuries, Kennedy said.
A second woman, 26-year-old Dee Age Jer Tyteona Jemison, was taken into custody at the scene and eventually charged with the stabbing.
Kennedy said the two women allegedly had a physical fight in a local club sometime before the stabbing, and the violence at the apartment complex was a result of that altercation.
Jemison was charged with Attempted Murder and placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where her bond was set at $30,000.
It is the only incident of violence reported during what is expected to be the busiest weekend of the year in Tuscaloosa.
