Tuscaloosa Man Killed in 2-Car Collision, Toddler Injured
A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Tuscaloosa man and injured a 2-year-old child in Bibb County Tuesday morning.
Trooper Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers, said the crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.
King said the deceased victim, 35-year-old Michael Austin Rasco, Jr., was driving his 2004 Honda Accord on Alabama 5 in Bibb County when he collided head-on with a 2014 GMC Savana by a 57-year-old from Bessemer.
Austin, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 2-year-old girl, Austin's passenger, was injured and transported to Children's of Alabama in Birmingham for treatment.
No further details were available Wednesday afternoon as the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continues its investigation.
