A Tuscaloosa man has been charged with a series of felonies after he allegedly broke into a woman's house, killed a dog there and then shot another man.

According to court records filed Monday, 34-year-old Robert Scott Evans invaded a home on Harmony Lane in north Tuscaloosa sometime last Friday, December 1st. Police said the house belonged to a woman they called Evans' soon-to-be ex-wife.

Evans' presence reportedly violated a restraining order the woman was granted earlier this year.

While inside her home, Evans allegedly shot and killed a dog belonging to another man.

According to the deposition, Evans was waiting in the driveway when the woman returned home. She and a passenger left the area and drove to a second location where they pulled over on Ridgecrest Drive.

Police say the woman's passenger exited the vehicle and walked over to Evans' car, and "immediately Evans produced a firearm and shot the victim one time in the arm."

The victim retreated to the first car and was driven to DCH Regional Medical Center, where court documents say the victim was admitted to the ICU in critical condition.

Evans was arrested Saturday and charged with violating a protective order, first-degree burglary with domestic violence, cruelty to animals and attempted murder.

He was booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he remained Wednesday.
