Tuscaloosa Groups Help Hale, Bibb Counties with Tornado Recovery

Several Tuscaloosa businesses and organizations are coming together to collect supplies to provide aid to the communities in Bibb and Hale Counties affected by last Thursday's tornadoes.

United Way of West Alabama, Alabama One Credit Union, Capitol Park Title LLC and Two Men and a Truck are gathering donations throughout this week across all their Tuscaloosa locations. Once collected, the supplies will be delivered by Two Men and a Truck to the incident command sites in each county.

"Having looming memories of the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa almost ten years ago, we know the devastation of what a tornado can do to a community and we want to be able to help and serve those when this type of disaster strikes,” said Tamika Alexander, Director of UWWA’s 2-1-1 Help & Referral Hotline that connects callers to resources in the area.

Specific items being collected include:
