Tuscaloosa Firefighters Deploying to Texas For Search & Rescue Efforts After Deadly Floods
A team of Tuscaloosa firefighters is gearing up to deploy to Texas, where they will assist in search and rescue efforts after catastrophic, deadly flooding across the Lone Star State this week.
A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue service said members of their Urban Search and Rescue Team will be sent to Texas at the request of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency in coordination with Alabama Task Force One.

The Tuscaloosa team will be used as a water asset, Whigham said, with the ability to conduct search and rescue efforts in urban environments.
The team of specialists will leave Alabama on Thursday and could be gone as long as two weeks - TFR said the duration of deployment will depend on operational needs in Texas.
Safe travels and good luck to the TFR professionals headed to Texas and all the first responders there trying to help in the wake of these disastrous floods.
