Tuscaloosa Farmers Market to Open Tuesday Afternoons This Summer
The city of Tuscaloosa's Farmers Market will open on Tuesday afternoons for two months this summer, supplementing its extremely popular weekly Saturday morning markets.
The expansion builds on an idea introduced last year, when the market opened every Tuesday in July. The concept will return for Summer 2025, but the fun starts early, kicking off this Tuesday, June 3rd, and running through the end of July this year.

“Last year we brought back Tuesday afternoon markets in just July, but this year we’re excited to add June,” said Tuscaloosa River Market Operations Manager Alexis Clark in a Wednesday press release. "The summer growing season is so bountiful, we not only wanted to give our farmers a second weekly opportunity to sell their produce, but also give shoppers a great opportunity to enjoy a smaller crowd and have easy access on the way home from work.”
In addition to the Saturday morning markets, the Tuscaloosa River Market will host as many as 35 total vendors each Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In the press release, a city spokesperson said vendors expected to participate in some or all of the Tuesday afternoon markets include the following:
